Our "Historical Hours" festival on May 17 and 18, 2025

Join France's largest multi-period festival in the grounds of the Château de Sully-sur-Loire on May 17 and 18, 2025.

Between 1,200 and 1,500 reenactors will welcome you. You'll encounter prehistoric men and soldiers from 20th-century wars, knights and ladies of the court from the time of Louis XIV, garrisons from ancient Rome, and characters straight out of the 19th century.

Saturday, May 17 10:30 a.m.: Opening with the Grand Costume Parade through the city center 11:30 a.m.: Inauguration of the camps 1:00 p.m.: Dance with History: The Sange with a fire hose demonstration. Entertainment in the castle courtyard -->

This year, the castle courtyard is completely free and open to the public. This is an opportunity to discover the architecture of the surrounding buildings and enjoy some of the castle's activities. On the program:

  • The Little Knight's Arena: To officially become the castle's knight, train and complete all the stages of your training.
  • The Herbalist's Stand: Learn all about the use of plants, both edible and medicinal.
  • TKI Game: Like a sort of "Who Is It," challenge your friends and family to discover the identity of the character they are portraying.

The castle's interior is also free for all those in full costume. Otherwise, access to the castle's rooms and collections is subject to a fee: regular admission rates apply.

Saturday, May 17: 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. / Sunday, May 18: 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Castle Opening Hours:
All weekend: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
