Medieval candlelight evening
Friday June 28, we invite you to a unique evening at the Château de Sully-sur-Loire. A medieval candlelit evening with a show and a stroll through the candlelit rooms of the castle.
Follow the adventures of a not very skillful knight: bracing speeches, fencing passes, acrobatics, and stunts will punctuate the start of the evening. Once the show is over, you are invited to explore the castle in subdued light: diffused lighting and candles await you!
1st part of the evening: show by Chevalier Geignard
“Le Chevalier Geignard” is a historical action theater show for the general public, which takes us to the discovery of chivalry and its codes.
Mélissandre, a dynamic steward, and Jean, a young, somewhat simple-minded squire, are looking for their lord but the knight remains nowhere to be found. After choosing an onlooker from the public to replace him, they will try to teach the not-so-clever guy the basics of chivalry and the codes of the Middle Ages.
Masterfully carried out by a trio of ultra dynamic actors, this farce on the border between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance tends to break the stubborn clichés that we have of this period.
Between offbeat humor, lively fights and colorful characters, this show will delight young and old.
2nd part of the evening: visit to the castle by candlelight
Wander through the rooms of the castle lit with subdued lighting and hundreds of candles for a dreamlike visit.
(re)Discover our spaces in a totally different way. A journey of anecdotes will await you in the rooms of the castle.
